Neonatal Unit

We offer special care to premature and sick newborn babies.

The babies are welcomed as temporary patients within the Neonatal Unit and are looked after by a highly motivated, professional and committed team, dedicated to giving the best possible care.

The multidisciplinary team includes medical staff, nursing staff, social workers, a Neonatal Homecare Nurse and visiting therapists.

We understand that having a baby in the neonatal unit can be a stressful time for everyone and we have a policy of keeping parents well informed. We encourage family centred care.

We have limited rooming in facilities for mothers, who usually spend at least 48 hours with their baby prior to discharge. Following discharge we have a Neonatal Homecare Nurse who visits for as long as necessary. Babies are usually followed up by the paediatrician in outpatients.

Visiting hours are between 2pm and 8pm. We ask that people with colds, sore throats, viruses or contagious diseases not visit. Parents are welcome at all times.
