Our mission
To provide quality library services for employees of Te Whatu Ora Taranaki and health professionals in the community.
The library supports the clinical, research and educational activities of all staff and health professionals in the community by providing access to information.
The library maintains a comprehensive print collection, as well as facilitating access to electronic resources. It also provides reference and interlibrary loan services and end-user training in database searching.
Becoming a registered user
Health professionals in the community may become registered users of this library. Please email the librarian to register. Please be aware that access to some online resources is restricted to users on site at Te Whatu Ora Taranaki.
Library hours
The library is open from 7.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Community Outreach members may have access after hours by prior arrangement.

Interlibrary loan
The library is a member of the HealthLib Network which offers free interloan services from most health libraries in New Zealand.
There may be a charge if obtaining interloans from outside this network - usual charge is $15.00 but urgent requests may be $20 - $30. Most journal articles are supplied within 48 hours, and books within seven days. For urgent clinical need same-day supply of journal articles is usually possible.
For postgraduate studies, please use the library of your tertiary provider as the first resource for material.
Literature searches
Literature searches are carried out on MEDLINE, CINAHL, PSYCHINFO, or other databases on request.
Tutorials
Group sessions on database searching, or one-to-one available on request.

Access to databases is restricted to registered users of this library. Apply to the Librarian for the required passwords and login links. Databases available for use outside the hospital are:
