About Us

Taranaki DHB has three physiotherapy clinics at Taranaki Base Hospital, Hawera Hospital and Stratford Health Centre.

They all have modern, comprehensive physiotherapy facilities. There are nine fully equipped treatment cubicles at Taranaki Base Hospital, two of which are private rooms. Hawera Hospital and Stratford Health Centre each have three fully equipped private rooms.

The clinics feature a spacious gymnasium and hydrotherapy pool.

We pride ourselves on our close ties with the broader health service, including GPs, consultants, along with inpatient and outpatient staff from Taranaki DHB and the private sector.

We are a university teaching department, with a yearly intake of students from Auckland Institute of Technology (AUT).

We are accredited under the New Zealand Physiotherapy Accreditation Scheme, and hold numerous contracts with ACC.

Contracts include Physiotherapy Services, Physical Fitness for Work and Independence, Functional Reactivation Programme, Activity Focus Programme, Comprehensive Pain Assessment, Training for Independence, Falls Prevention, Social Rehab Assessments, Hand Therapy, Graduated Return To Work and Vocational Assessments.

Monday to Friday
8am-4:30pm                                                                           

Evening Clinic at Taranaki Base Hospital only - Tuesday and Thursday
4:30pm-6:30pm
