Nutrition and Dietetic Services

Dietitians provide both inpatient and outpatient services at Taranaki Base Hospital on a Monday to Friday basis between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Outpatient services are by appointment only.

Monthly Outpost Dietitians Outpatient Clinics are also held, in conjunction with a Diabetes Educator at the Waitara, Inglewood and Opunake Health Centres and twice a month at Stratford Health Centre.

There is a limited inpatient dietitians service at Hawera Hospital, as well as outpatient clinics on Monday mornings and Thursdays. The Hawera dietitian also attends a monthly clinics at Patea Health Centre.

The Nutrition and Dietetic Services department is located on level 1 of the Special Services block at Taranaki Base Hospital, next to the main kitchen or the Hospital stores block.

You can find the Hawera Dietitian in the Outpatients Department at Hawera Hospital.
