Library Catalogue

Users who have dial-up or broadband access to Taranaki DHB's internal systems will also have access to our internal Library Catalogue from the intranet. once you are connected, click on References/Library/Catalogue.

Interlibrary Loan

This library is a member of the HealthLib Network which offers free interloan services from most libraries in the health field in New Zealand.

There may be a charge if obtaining interloans from outside this network - usual charge is $15.00 but urgent requests may be $20 - $30. Most journal articles or books are obtained within seven days, but for urgent clinical need same-day supply is possible.

NB: For postgraduate studies, please use the library of your tertiary provider as the first resource for material.

Literature Searches

Literature searches are carried out on MEDLINE, CINAHL, PSYCHINFO, or other databases at our disposal.

Tutorials

Group sessions on database searching, or one-to-one on request. Links to online tutorials are provided.

Library Advisory Committee

The Library Advisory Committee meets four times a year. The terms of reference for the committee are:

• To assist in framing policies and regulations and support the librarian in their implementation
• To provide a means of communication between the librarian and the library's users
• To assist with the selection, weeding and ongoing evaluation of the collection
• To engage in such other activities as to promote the well-being of the library.
