The Ministry of Health has approved funding for stage one of Project Maunga - Base Hospital Redevelopment.

The development will offer a modern facility that will benefit patients, staff and the community as a whole. It is important that all staff members are involved in the project.

NCOUNTER GROUP Ltd has been appointed to provide Project Director Services. The four members of the team will play a pivotal role in making critical decisions and monitoring project performance to plan. 

The Ministry of Health will fund $45 million for the redevelopment. The remainder of the $80 million will come from the DHB and community.

There has already been work undertaken to improve the models of care, and this work continues. These projects are linked to the facilities redevelopment.
