Leadership and Management Programme
The Leadership and Management Programme (LAMP) has been designed to build long term leadership and management capability within the New Zealand health sector.
LAMP is an initiative of District Health Boards New Zealand (DHBNZ) and the Ministry of Health. It is designed for people across the whole of the health sector and as such offers a variety of courses. Taranaki DHB is offering attendance at two of these courses - MAP and HSMC.
Programme Criteria
MAP - Management Action Programme
MAP is an action learning development programme for those in management and/or leadership roles in the New Zealand health industry.
Applicants will be interested in developing their staff and in contributing more broadly to the organisation. They will be keen to build local, regional and national networks in the health industry and across the wider public sector as it impacts on health.
MAP aims to improve management capabilities and hone existing skills.

HSMC - Health Systems and Management for Clinicians
The HSMC Programme is for health professionals who have leadership roles in their organisations. They may have a part-time management role or be interested in moving into such a position. HSMC assists participants to deal with the complexity of dual clinician and management responsibilities.
It provides a forum to share experiences and exchange ideas about the challenges of clinical leadership roles and also focuses on understanding how health systems work.
